YPS, Patiala offers the globally recognized International Award for Young People (IAYP) program, which delivers the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award in India. This globally recognized program is designed to develop students' physical and social skills, fostering personal growth and a sense of achievement.
This prestigious program helps students aged 14 and above develop vital physical and social skills, encouraging personal growth and achievement. Structured in Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels, the IAYP program integrates seamlessly into our school calendar. It focuses on four core components: Physical Activity, Skill, Community Service, and Adventure.
Students engage in meaningful activities such as community service at orphanages and old age homes, and participate in adventurous pursuits like marathon cycle rallies and skiing courses in Manali and Gulmarg.
Through these experiences, students gain valuable skills, build endurance, and foster a sense of achievement.
National Cadet Corps (NCC)
NCC at YPS, Patiala fosters all-round development, instilling a strong sense of service, commitment, dedication, and discipline in students. To nurture leadership skills and inspire a career in the defense forces, YPS offers three NCC wings:
Beyond regular drills, our NCC cadets engage in social welfare activities and undergo training twice a week. Many cadets participate in Thal Sena Camps and some are selected for the intensive training leading up to State and National level Republic Day March Past Camps.
National Service Scheme (NSS)
The school is committed to fostering a culture of sustainability and environmental awareness. Through National Service Scheme (NSS), our senior students lead initiatives like Street Plays and Green Marches to promote eco-consciousness.
Regular activities include Tree Plantation Drives, Anti-Plastic Campaigns, and collecting books and clothes for those in need. Our commitment to environmental stewardship has earned us the prestigious Green School Award, underscoring our dedication to preserving the planet for future generations.
