“A school is really the place where foundations are laid for future careers in life. We grow the way we allow ourselves to be influenced by our surroundings, the contacts we develop, and the associations we form. Everyone must endeavour to make the best of his or her time and opportunities as a student. It is of fundamental importance to live a clean, truthful and disciplined life.”
Our School Founder, His Highness Maharajadhiraj Yadavindra Singh’s immortal words on the role of schools have been our guiding force.
The School Motto - Vidya, Vinay, Veerta (Wisdom, Virtue, Valour) - reflects our commitment to the all-round development of our students, emphasizing their moral, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth. It characterizes the comprehensive education we provide, rooted in the belief that true education is not just the growth of the body or mind alone but a harmonious blend of both, in the truest sense.
The School Crest extends the Motto’s essence, symbolized by the image of drooping ears of wheat, a lamp, a book, and a brace of swords—each representing the three virtues enshrined in our guiding principles.
Our School Flag, a vibrant blend of maroon, bright yellow, and sky blue—the spirited colors of our Houses—and our School Song, ‘Land of Our Birth,’ a lively adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s famous hymn, serve as constant reminders of our duty towards our Motherland.
The following lines, perhaps, sum up the school's philosophy and tenets perfectly-
I am the YPS child.
All the world waits for my coming.
All the earth watches with interest to see
What I shall become
Civilization hangs in the balance,
For what I am, the world of tomorrow will be.
