Auditorium
The Captain Amarinder Singh Auditorium, a significant addition to YPS, was conceived to address the long-standing need for a dedicated indoor venue for school events. Since the school's founding in 1948, various functions had been held in the Junior School Amphitheatre, but its limited seating and susceptibility to weather proved challenging.
The journey toward the auditorium began in earnest during the school's 50th anniversary, with plans solidified years later under the guidance of Raja Malvinder Singh, Chairman of the Board of Governors. Construction commenced after a groundbreaking ceremony, culminating in an 850-seat auditorium equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, including BOSE sound systems and premium flooring imported from the UK.
Completed in April 2021, the auditorium features a spacious stage, plush seating, and essential amenities like green rooms and a VIP lounge. It also boasts advanced air conditioning and fire safety systems, ensuring a secure and comfortable environment for a variety of school functions, including cultural events and inter-school competitions. This facility marks a transformative step for the school, fostering the talents of its students in an inspiring setting.
Cyber Café
The school's Cyber Café is a modern facility designed to enhance students' digital literacy and connectivity. Equipped with high-speed internet and state-of-the-art computers, it provides a space for project work, and online learning. The café offers a comfortable and collaborative environment, encouraging students to explore technology while developing essential skills for the digital age. With trained staff available for assistance, students can engage in various activities, from coding workshops to digital art classes. This facility not only supports academic endeavours but also fosters creativity and innovation, making it a vital resource for the school's educational programs.
